Wanderlusting in Thailand...

All the hard work (or last minute work) paid off on Tuesday, June 23rd. When we first arrived to Maetaman, we were told about the Tree Planting Project that would take place on that date. The entire village plus other villages and volunteers get together to have a tree planting ceremony. Our job as volunteers was to prepare for this ceremony. As I’ve written before, we didn’t do much work the first week. The second week we began to prepare a bit more. There was a day were we went hoeing. Now, I’m from the city. I don’t garden. Never have and probably never will again. It was so hard. The sun was beaming against my skin and the mosquitos were eager little buggers trying to bite me anywhere they could.
